Fri 21 May 2021This week, we have been continuing to create Just So stories, including description and speech and have been thrilled with some of the outcomes with two children impressing Mrs Cave so much that they were awarded merit certificates (and a number of House Points from Miss Hubert). The children have loved putting together conversations about food and drink that they enjoy. Next week, we are looking forward to finishing this half term's topics, ready for the holidays 🙂

Year 4 Latest News
Mon 17 May 2021In DT this week, we explored how to make our own switches that can be use on our torches when we make them so the light will turn on and off. During our work in Science, we investigated which materials were good electrical conductors. We really enjoyed Pyjamarama day. So many children brought new books. We based our work on the book called 'The Getaway' by Ed Vere, acting out scenes from the story before writing our own version. Look out for pictures on the website soon.

We have also enjoyed our Pajama Rama day. Throughout the day we have created books all about rivers, including rivers of the world, different features of rivers and also explaining what rivers are used for. We have got lots of things to look forward to over the rest of half term and summer 2 and we cannot wait to share our experiences with you all.

We also had a fantastic Science lesson where the children set up their own investigation to see which materials are soluble in a liquid. Predictions were made and observations recorded. Year 3 Latest News
Fri 07 May 2021On Tuesday, Year 3 had a really exciting enrichment day all about the Romans with an outside provider called Partake! In the morning, we looked at and identified Roman artefacts that had been excavated by archaeologists. We also wrote on Roman tablets, built Roman arch bridges, played Roman games and made some colourful mosaics. In the afternoon, we learnt how the Romans dressed and what a Roman soldier wore to battle. Summer and Conor in 3W modelled the Roman outfits and Jack C and Lily did the same in 3M. The final activity consisted of using real Roman shields to walk through a Roman battle formation whilst barbarians threw rocks at them. We had a really exciting day and learnt a lot about Ancient Rome! Please check out the website for photos of all the children.

Year 4 Latest News
Fri 07 May 2021We have had a busy week in y4. We have been mastering the 24 hour clock, competing in a blindfolded egg and spoon race and debating whether school uniform should be banned! There were lots of fantastic arguments for and against this which resulted in some very effective persuasive letters. In topic, we used the clues and artefacts that were discovered at Sutton Hoo, to decide who might have been buried there. Great detective work!Â
