Tue 14 Dec 2021Year 3 Had a really exciting morning when the police visited. They came to talk about a career in the police and Year 3 were fascinated with the van. They were locked in and tried to get out! Violet was chosen to set the siren off which was really loud.

Fri 10 Dec 2021Year 3 had a fabulous day at the Christmas Fayre. All of them seemed to buy a knitted toy and most had their faces painted. They loved having their own money to spend on what they liked. I was really proud of the way they conducted themselves in the afternoon.

Year 4 Latest News
Fri 10 Dec 2021This week, in English, we have been writing diaries. We wrote about a day in South Africa after doing lots of research about it. In Science, we have been exploring the difference between food chains and food webs. We also had lots of fun at the Christmas Fair!

Year 3 Latest News
Mon 06 Dec 2021Year 3 had a really exciting week as Phil and Emma came to talk to us about raising money for the Rosie May Foundation. We are using a Smartie tube to collect 20p’s and £1 coins. Of course we can eat the Smarties first! Please ask your child to explain what it is all about and we will see them again on Wed 15th December to give the tubes back.

Year 5 Latest News
Fri 03 Dec 2021This week, we have started a new unit of work about area and perimeter and we have been trying to measure accurately. In English, we have continued writing about Alma and we used different techniques, to build tension and suspense. The beads for our Indus Valley jewellery are ready for painting next week. They look great! Miss Woolley was very impressed with our singing this week. The Christmas songs are sounding beautiful.

Fri 03 Dec 2021We have had a fantastic week in Year 6. On Tuesday, we had a Victorian Day where we had a go at making Victoria Sponge cupcakes. They were yummy. We also took part in a drama workshop where we acted out what life would have been like for different groups of people in Victorian times and learnt about working in the mills. We have also been continuing our DARE sessions and have been learning the DARE song ready for our DARE graduation.

Fri 03 Dec 2021This week in Year 4, we have continued to learn about South Africa including townships and some of the people living there who had their own business, Nelson Mandela and also we have researched places to visit in order to write a diary next week. In Science, we have discovered what effect different liquids have on our teeth and that we need to keep our teeth healthy. And THE BAD ELVES arrived!

Fri 26 Nov 2021This week Year 4 have been working really hard during test week. We are so impressed to see them trying their best in all subjects. In Science, we set up an experiment to see what drinks have the worst impact on our teeth. We are going to leave eggs in different liquids for the next week and record our results next week.

Fri 26 Nov 2021This week, Year 5 have worked really hard in all of their tests and we have been really impressed with their attitude. In Science, we wrote a set of instructions for our experiment, where we investigated how the shape of an object affects the amount of water resistance. This week, we designed our Indus Valley jewellery and we are excited to make it next week.

Thu 11 Nov 2021Year three have been writing instructions of how to make a bumble bee from a recycled bottle. They have written about the Chinese “Shang Dynasty” in topic and in Science they have been looking at how light travels. Mr Mercer, who is a driving instructor, came into school and Year 3 enjoyed their talk with him and looking around his specially adapted car.
