School Council

2024-2025

A new school year hopefully filled with some exciting projects...

The School Councilors are always elected through a vote within their classes after putting themselves up for election. Upper School children often have to give a speech to declare why they would make an excellent candidate and Year 4 children at least have to give reasons why they would excel at this responsibility (promoting the British Values of Democracy).

This year our School Councilors are:

Year 6 -Lucy (Chair- as voted by the School Council)

Jack R (Secretary- as voted by the School Council)

Year 5- Amy, Riley, Aidan and Isabella

Year 4- Theos, Amber, Charlotte and Reggie

Year 3- to join in the Spring term after time to settle :-).

Over the last few weeks we have been working on an assembly for Parliament week (WB 18th November) where each class also has a debate topic allocated. This will be worked on during the week and a debate will take place within class towards the end of week- let's hope they don't all agree on the same point of view!!!!

2023-24

This years school councillors- elected by their class- are Poppy and Afonso, Lily and Oscar A (Secretary), Cody(Chair) and Olivia, Lucas and Brooklyn (Secretary) and Lily and Louis.

Last year, the school Council entered a competition to design posters for the Cycle Hub in Stapleford and three members had their posters created into A1 versions which are on the outside of the Hub. Additionally, they won a refurbished bike. They also worked with the Little Holland Project, discussing how to make roads safer.

The school council will continue to search out new projects to support making our school and local area a better place for all.
