Fri 18 Jul 2025 Miss Ottowell

On Tuesday, Year 6 enjoyed their end of year treat - a morning of laser tag and zorbing. It was lovely to see everyone getting involved and having fun. I think people spent most of the time on the floor in their zorb, rolling around!

On Thursday, the DAaRT graduation went really well. Our DAaRT officer and Year 5 enjoyed the sketches and information that was shared. The children really have worked hard on all aspects of the programme.

Well, there's only 1 more week to go with lots of fun things planned. Have a lovely weekend.

Last Class News for this year! This week has been slightly different, we have been completing quizzes in the afternoon to see what knowledge has been retained throughout year 3, 4 and 5. We have continued with our art portraits focusing on the Loomis method for drawing faces from a different angle and in history we finished our Tudors unit by looking at the Spanish Armada. We had our trip to the library on Thursday, it was great to see children getting enthusiastic about books and on Monday we were lucky enough to have Miss Weatherall in class to teach us different First Aid techniques. Reports will be out on Monday and next week we have lots to look forward to as we have our Albany Adventure on Tuesday and Inflatable day on Wednesday. Have a lovely weekend everyone

Fri 18 Jul 2025 Mrs Marshall & Miss Stepheneson

This week, Year 4 have been learning all about Hinduism as part of our RE lessons for our current unit. They have learnt what Hinduism is, their main beliefs, Gods and Goddesses and have looked at what worship is like at home and in a Mandir. We have also enjoyed our quiz week afternoons, which has put their knowledge to the test, covering everything they have been taught this year. There may be one week left of school now, but it will be a very educational and exciting one with a Culture Day on Thursday, our Albany Adventure to Yorkshire Wildlife park on Tuesday and Inflatables on Wednesday! On Wednesday, we will also get an ice cream as Year 4’s plant stall generated the most profit at the Summer market and on our very last day, we also have a non-uniform day, another treat for our winning stall. Have a great weekend everyone!

Hot Hot Hot. This week has been our Albany healthy living week, we have talked a lot about looking after ourselves focusing on our bodies, exercise, teeth and the food we eat to remain healthy. Sports day was a great success, congratulation to red team, but also to everyone for taking part in such good spirits. Children have enjoyed the JIGSAW Changing Me lessons we have covered this week being very mature and engaged. We had our transition day on Wednesday and year five met their new teachers for next year, either Miss Ottowell or Mrs Carmichael. The children completed their nature walk in Bramcote woods on Thursday, learning tree names and identifying local nature (test your children if you visit in the near future). Quiz week next week with a Library visit to look forward too as well. Have a lovely weekend.

This week has been a busy one with all our end of year assessments. The children have done very well and we are proud of the progress they have made this year. Alongside our tests this week, we have had some sports day practise and lessons focused around each of our British Values, which the children have engaged well with. On Friday, we wrote an advertisement for London as part of our Independent Write which also links to our topic on The British Isles. On Friday afternoon, we had a great time at the summer market, there were lots of stalls and fun activities for us to get involved in.
