Year 3 are having a lovely week wrapping up their learning. Both classes have performed their group dances to some of their peers and had a great time doing it! They have worked hard to publish their diary entries, which look beautiful. All of the children also had an absolute blast at the pantomime. We were so proud of them and the way the conducted themselves and followed all of the adult instructions.

    • Tuesday - Christmas concert 10am

    Fri 12 Dec 2025

This week, we have continued to write our travel diary in English about our experiences in South Africa- we have climbed Table Mountain, seen the penguins, visited  gone on safari, found glorious beaches (depending on whether we visited Cape Town, Durban or Johannesburg). We have used our Times Tables lots in Maths- KEEP LEARNING THEM!!!

Obviously, the highlight of the week was the PANTO- what a great time we had. We were so proud of all the children- behaviour was great and the ushers commented how wonderful they were 🙂 Keep it up 🙂

Next week, keep learning the 100 words- they are in Partnership books 🙂

Fri 05 Dec 2025 Miss Hubert & Mrs Douifi

    Only two weeks until Christmas!

In preparation for Christmas, Year 5 have been channelling their inner Grinch and have been busy plotting how to steal Christmas.  We have been learning how to write instructions and have begun writing our own set of instructions all about stealing Christmas.  Hopefully they will be ready to publish next week.  In maths, we are still learning about fractions and have been comparing and ordering fractions.  Once again, it highlights just how important times tables are and how much easier they will find their work if they learn them at home.

Next week is a busy and exciting week.  On Tuesday, we have our trip to the Pantomime immediately followed by parents evening.  We are looking forward to catching up with you and sharing how well your children have done this term.  On Thursday, we will be heading to St Helens Church for our Christmas dress rehearsal.  If you are free to walk with us, please contact the office.  We are aiming to leave around 9am.

The spelling list for next week can be found below.

Well done to everyone on another busy week! This week saw the start of our Christmas traditions with the Albany Advent - we are so lucky!

In Maths we have been continuing to work hard on fractions, adding and subtracting fractions and applying our knowledge to problem solving. We have showed great resilience with some challenging questions!

In English we have published our diary entries from the perspective of characters in The Highwayman, the children were very proud of their writing.

We are looking forward to a busy new week with the Pantomime, Christmas singing rehearsals and seeing the parents at parents evening.

    Have a lovely weekend!

Fri 05 Dec 2025 Mrs Marshall & Miss Stepheneson

This week we have been planning a South African diary- Mrs Marshall has loved retelling stories of her visit there a  few!!! years ago whilst travelling. The egg shells were looked at in Science and the lesson is- do not drink vinegar!!!!

It was fun building pyramids and predicting how many cubes would be needed for a higher pyramid- we noticed a pattern and talked about squared numbers. These will be referred to again next year in Year 5.

Keep practicing times tables and READ!!!

Fri 05 Dec 2025 Mr Harding & Miss Brown

The children have worked hard this week and shown some great appreciation. They have enjoyed the start of advent and are really thankful for everything they have. The children have started their new unit in Maths (multiplication and division) and have shown some great mathematical understanding through this. We have had some great English lessons too both writing and editing our diary entries. Next week we will be starting to look at finishing of our topics ready to review them the following week.
