Year 4 Latest News
Fri 25 Jun 2021This week, Year 4 have continued our topic of Sound in Science and we explored how different sounds were made. This resulted in a very noisy afternoon banging drums and cymbals. We've also been finding out where different counties and cities are located in England. We're really looking forward to film night after school today!

Year 3 Latest News
Fri 25 Jun 2021We have been focussing on newspaper reports in Year 3 this week and have been learning all about the different features. We have been writing our own all about the short film Ruckus - ask your children what they know about the story! Perhaps you could even interview them as a witness! We are looking forward to producing a final copy of these next week and writing our newspaper article in columns!

Thu 24 Jun 2021This week it was fantastic to get back to face to face teaching and learning in our new location. We have all tried really hard to adapt and make the church hall our new school. We have all now read some of our class read Macbeth and have started to learn about the Tudor reign. We look forward to the coming weeks and all the exciting activities that we will get to take part in.

Fri 18 Jun 2021It has been lovely to welcome Year 4 back this week. They have adapted well to some differences around the school and the classrooms they are in. In English, we have been focusing on playscripts where we had the chance to get out in the sun and do some acting. We have also been learning about shapes and their properties in Maths. We've been looking into sandwiches in DT ready for when we get to make our own sandwich soon!

Fri 18 Jun 2021Year three had a great time watching “Wish Dragon” for their film night. They were really well behaved and thoroughly enjoyed the popcorn, hotdogs and drinks. It was so nice to do something a bit different even in our “Bubble”.

Thu 17 Jun 2021For the past two weeks, the online learners have impressed us with their dedication and hard working attitude. It's been great to see work on Seesaw from these learners but also those not working online. It's been fun to begin to research the beginning of the Tudor times, including the Battle of Bosworth. As well as this, we have explored the theatres of the time and started to study a version of MacBeth. Well done. We look forward to seeing you all again next week.

Thu 17 Jun 2021Well done to all of Year 6 for the last two weeks. We know it hasn't been easy but thank you for all doing your best with the online learning and using the CGP books. We have been busy completing our DARE sessions with DARE Officer Freeman and look forward to seeing her again in person next week. In English we have been looking at the different tenses and in maths we have been tackling long division. Whilst school won't be the same for you all, we can't wait to have everyone in next week! Fri 21 May 2021This week, Year 4 have created their own bar chart in Maths. We collected data on favourite foods from other Year 4 children and adults. Afterwards, we used different methods to create our bar charts, including post it notes, Purple Mash and Microsoft Excel. In English, we have been writing a newspaper report on the events of the Vikings invading Lindisfarne. We also designed our torch in DT ready to make them next week!

Fri 21 May 2021We had a great day last Friday, Pyjamarama day, taking part in all kinds of book-related activities including Book Bingo, crosswords, word-searches, telling the tale of the Iguana lost at sea or the spy disguised as a bird watcher and creating our own ‘How to….’ Book series. We’ve also been writing ‘Just so’ stories in the last few days in the style of Rudyard Kipling.

Fri 21 May 2021Year 3 have been busy this week testing out different watercolour techniques ready to paint their Roman myth next week for their final piece in Art. We are coming to the end of our Maths topic 'Time'; we would really appreciate it if you could continue to practice telling the time with your child as this is such an important skill. We have also set up a Science experiment on Thursday with Geraniums to see how fertiliser affects plant growth.
