We have checked up the mummifying tomatoes and have learned more about hieroglyphs writing/ drawing on papyrus paper- which we learned was a plant that grows by the River Nile. In Science, we continued to learn about the digestive system and the functions of each of the organs involved. In Computing, children started their coding unit.

PE will continue to be on Tues and Wed when weather allows- please take out earrings and any hoop style earrings are not allowed as part of the uniform at anytime for health and safety reasons. Please make sure that correct PE uniform kit is worn.

Have a lovely weekend- not as sunny as last weekend 🙁!!!!!!!!

We have had a fantastic week settling in to life in year 6. This week, we have completed our first RE unit of the year, where we have explored objectives around wisdom, morals and different sacred texts. We have also started our class story 'The Odyssey' , which follows the journey of King Odysseus and his army on their way back from the war in Troy. We are extremely proud of the start that the children have made. It is like they have been here for months already and we cannot wait for what is to come in future weeks and months.

This week, it has been lovely to  be back in school, working with your children. It may have been the first week back but we have worked hard- Times table Rockstars, staring our new Topic unit of Ancient Egypt (mummifying tomatoes, making salt dough and Egyptian plaques with  hieroglyphs on them and learning about the River Nile). We have also started to think about the journey of Life and all the achievements we have experienced so far, also thinking about what our hopes and dreams are.

Remember PE is on Tues and Wed next week. Please can we ask that jewelry is removed to keep your children safe and remember correct PE kit. Trainers should not be worn on non PE days.
