Fri 20 May 2022This week, we really enjoyed our Scottish themed day, linked to this half term's Humanities topic. We found out about Scottish traditions and culture, including traditional clothing, the Highland Games and clans. We even tried lots of Scottish food such as haggis, oatcakes and tablet. Our Higland Games tournament ended with a tug-o-war competition with the winning clan being the McWinners (named before their win!)

Thu 12 May 2022This week, in Maths, we have started a new unit of work all about shape. So far, we have identified and compared different angles and we have started to make links between the type of angle and how many degrees it would be. In Science, we discovered that we can actually retrieve salt from a salt water solution by allowing the water to evaporate. The texture and the appearance of the salt was just like the salt we dissolved in the water! We are looking forward to our Scottish themed day next week.

Thu 28 Apr 2022Year 3 have had a really good week practising for sports day. It would be really helpful if they could try more skipping and egg (potato) and spoon balancing at home. Lots of them were very tired when running so maybe they could do a bit of running too! Thanks for your support. Really appreciate it.

Thu 28 Apr 2022This week we have continued learning about The Anglo Saxons and Vikings. We learned that the Angles, Saxons and Vikings all invaded Britain from countries in Europe. Did you know the song London's Bridge is falling down is about a Viking attack by a Viking called Olaf? Olaf tied ropes to the wooden legs of the bridge and the ships when English soldiers were firing down. He rowed away quickly and the bridge fell down!
We have also started to consider how a net to create a torch could be created and had a go at making different nets. We have started creating and investigating electrical circuits in Science.
Hopefully, we will have some sunshine over the weekend and we wish you a great Bank Holiday.
