This week was Healthy Living Week, which began with sports day. Everyone tried really hard with their events both in the morning and afternoon. Throughout the  week, we have completed our unit on 'Changing Me' as well as activities linked to hygiene and a healthy lifestyle.

Some children spent a couple of days at their new secondary school, which means everyone has now been to their new school.

We are swimming as normal for the next 2 weeks. Please remember your kit.

Hot Hot Hot. This week has been our Albany healthy living week, we have talked a lot about looking after ourselves focusing on our bodies, exercise, teeth and the food we eat to remain healthy. Sports day was a great success, congratulation to red team, but also to everyone for taking part in such good spirits. Children have enjoyed the JIGSAW Changing Me lessons we have covered this week being very mature and engaged. We had our transition day on Wednesday and year five met their new teachers for next year, either Miss Ottowell or Mrs Carmichael. The children completed their nature walk in Bramcote woods on Thursday, learning tree names and identifying local nature (test your children if you visit in the near future). Quiz week next week with a Library visit to look forward too as well. Have a lovely weekend.

This week has been a busy one with all our end of year assessments. The children have done very well and we are proud of the progress they have made this year. Alongside our tests this week, we have had some sports day practise and lessons focused around each of our British Values, which the children have engaged well with. On Friday, we wrote an advertisement for London as part of our Independent Write which also links to our topic on The British Isles. On Friday afternoon, we had a great time at the summer market, there were lots of stalls and fun activities for us to get involved in.

    Have a great weekend!

Another hot one, not as hot as last week though. Test week for everyone, they have all smashed it, well done year 5. We had 3 maths, 1 spelling, 1 SPAG, 1 reading and our 200 Y3,Y4,Y5,Y6 spellings words, so very impressive. We looked at our British Values in the afternoons this week learning Rule of Law, Democracy, Individual Liberty, Mutual Respect and Tolerance. We continued with Spanish and P.E, again sports day training and in Art we learnt how to draw a portrait form a different angle using the Loomis Method. Sports day Monday and healthy living week for the rest. Have a great weekend.

This week, we have completed our topic on rivers. We found out why they are important and we researched some of the world's major rivers. We were amazed by the size of them.

In Science, we have been learning about inheritance and why variation occurs between living things. We took a Mr Men and Little Miss character and thought about what features their children might inherit.

We have also been working hard on our DAaRT and leavers' performances.

Transition days have taken place this week at Friesland. Next week, it's Bramcote.

    Have a great weekend
