What a way to start the new term!  In preparation for our whole school trip to the theatre, we learnt about playscripts and how they are used, acted out parts from a Robin Hood play, explored different theatres from around the world and learnt about the history of pantomime and what to expect at the theatre.  We also completed a maths investigation where we planned a trip to the pantomime and worked out how much it would cost just to send Year 6! It was quite an eye-opener.  All this was followed by the amazing Robin Hood pantomime at the Theatre Royal.  It was a brilliant show and we all loved it.

Year 4 came back to school excited to find out more about pantomimes and Robin Hood. We found out about different types of theatres and have learned about the stories of Robin Hood and his Merry men as well as discovering more about Sherwood Forest. The pantomime was a fantastic experience and enjoyed immensely. This it has been followed up with a music session based on these themes. Additionally, we learned about how Spanish people celebrate Christmas and the importance of the 5th and 6th January with Senora Creese, where all the information was written in Spanish and we had to decode it! A busy first three days back!
