  • Y4 Latest News

Fri 19 Mar 2021 Miss Frost

Year 4 have been settling back into school well and we are impressed with how hard they have been working. We have been writing our own modern version of Jack and the Beanstalk in English. Our topic this half term is the Ancient Mayans and we have been making our own Mayan masks in Art. We have been layering up cardboard and gluing them together. Next week we will be ready to paint them!

  • 5W Latest News

Fri 19 Mar 2021 Miss Frost

In 5W, this week, we have been learning about the layers of the rainforest. Mrs. Limb created a leaf which was 7m across to show us how big leaves can grow in the forest canopy. We’ve started to learn about wax resistance techniques for batik too and in music, we’ve found out what a pentatonic scale is. Well done everyone for working hard over the last couple of weeks!

  • Y6 Latest News

Wed 17 Mar 2021 Miss Frost

We have welcomed year 6 back into the classroom and so far, we have had a good start with getting the children settled back into the classroom. We have continued with our World War II topic and in DT, we have made modal Spitfires. As we have not been in school for a while, we have made it a priority to help the children with their mental health and well-being. We have therefore undertaken many different activities centered around making the children feel better as well as taking part in some enriching PE activities such as Golf, Archery and Scatter ball. The year 6's have settled in well and we continue to be proud of the way they conduct themselves around the school.

  • 5M Latest News

Wed 17 Mar 2021 Miss Frost

In 5M, we have  enjoyed getting back to some kind of normality. We have started an English recount unit about UFO sightings- which caused a bit of debate regarding whether children believed in them or not- and in Maths have been studying Area and Perimeter. Learning about the rainforests, has been fascinating and the class was amazed to learn that we share 98% of our DNA with a gorilla (and then even more surprised to find that we share 98% of our DNA with lettuce!!!!)
