Year 4 Class News
Fri 13 Mar 2026This week has been Test Week- well done children for trying and working hard 🙂
Scores will be given at Parents Evening on 24th March.
We have also continued learning about the Mayans and where they settled and have started our Mayan masks. In music we have learned about what an ostinato is. Science Day was a busy yet great day making posters, researching female scientists, seeing how many marbles could fit in a boat and learning about snot- sorry mucus. The question was " What material makes the best handkerchief". Cotton wool or tissue came top out of the materials we had and tin foil and cotton fabric the worst- this last one surprised us...The children seemed to have lots of fun 🙂
Next week, spellings are the same as last week as not tested this week due to Test Week.
4M have PE on Monday rather than Friday.
Mrs Marshall is at Hagg Farm with the Year 6s on residential so is leaving you with Miss Weatherall 🙂 You will have a great week I am sure 🙂
Read, complete handwriting and times table sheets, practice time tables on TTRS and look at the Mayan homework- I love the Mayan headdress that has been brought in 🙂

Year 3 Class News
Fri 13 Mar 2026Test week this week and the children have persevered fantastically. We have seen some real progression with the assessments so the children should be very proud of themselves. Science day was a massive highlight on Thursday, with the children learning all about buoyancy and snot, what’s not to love. We have continued learning about Roman Britain, looking at roads this week and how Roman ideas effect how we live now. Problem solving in P.E showed us some real leader qualities in some children and when creating PowerPoint presentation in computing some real expertise shined through. Have a great weekend everyone, should be a sunny one.

Year 6 News
Fri 06 Mar 2026This week, we have been working hard with our revision and in Maths, we have been learning how to find percentages of amounts, using our knowledge of equivalent fractions to help. We have linked this to interpreting pie charts, to find out how many people are represented in each section. In English, we have written our balanced arguments, explaining both sides with evidence. Ready for our moving vehicles, in our DT lesson, everyone created a working circuit with a switch and a motor.
Remember to complete the order forms for your hoodies.
Have a great weekend.
