Fri 13 Sep 2024This week has been test week and so the children have had to work hard. We have continued to learn about the Ancient Egyptians and why the River Nile was so important to them as well as discovering what tools farmers used ahead of learning about the Shaduf. In Science, the children have started to discover what organs are in the digestive system and what each does. We have had the opportunity to paint out salt dough plaques to and have looked at our mummified tomatoes. We are looking forward to staring our Maths and English lessons next week.
Please note- Spellings HAVE been given out and should be in their green spelling books. The children should know the group they are in. They will be tested on a Friday.
Have a great weekend.

Year 3 News
Fri 13 Sep 2024This week, year 3 have taken part in test week with the rest of the school. We know it is a big step starting a new school and tests can be tricky for some of the children but we have to say that they have been absolutely brilliant all week. We are so so proud at how hard they have worked and of how much resilience they have shown, demonstrating plenty of our Albany 5R's. We have also started our art unit on stoneage paintings and the children have also enjoyed their first Spanish lesson with Mrs Crease! We will be getting into ordinary lessons next week and we have an action packed schedule of English, Maths and other exciting lessons to teach!

Fri 06 Sep 20246 Ottowell have had a brilliant first week back. It has been great seeing everyone and hearing all about their Summer adventures. This week, we have created our class charter and we have also completed our first unit of work in RE, based on wisdom and authority. This has included thinking about how wisdom is shared and how we can reflect on things that have happened. We also discussed why sacred texts are also a source of wisdom.

Year 3 News
Fri 06 Sep 2024What a lovely first week we have had in year 3. We have lots of tired but very happy children. They have all settled into their new classes really well and we couldn't be prouder of the way that the children have conducted themselves. We have completed our first RE unit as well as taking time to make sure the children know how to move around school. Please remember our PE days are Tuesdays and Fridays. Next Tuesday the children will be doing Hockey outside so please ensure they are in the appropriate clothing. (Remember children need to come to school in their PE kit as we do not get changed in school).
We hope the children have a lovely and well-rested weekend! They definitely deserve it.
