Year 5 News

We have had a great week this week.  We started the week with our Fathers Day breakfast and it was so lovely to see so many get to have some time in school with their loved ones.  On Tuesday, we visited Haddon Hall and had an amazing day learning more about the Tudors.  All the children got the opportunity to dress up in traditional Tudor clothing and took part in two Tudor dances.  As we went around the hall, we learnt all about the different families who have lived there over the years and the significance of the peacock and the wild boar.  All the children behaved brilliantly and it was so lovely to receive so many compliments from staff and visitors at the hall during the day to say how polite and well-behaved our children were.

The spellings for this week will be carried over to next week so there will be no new spellings sent home this week.  Next Thursday afternoon, we will be visiting Stapleford Library.  If your child has a library card at home, please send it with them so that they can take home a book.   If they do not yet have a library card, please fill out the application form they came home with and return to school before next week so that we can get a card sorted for them.
