Year 4 News

This week Year 4 have started a brand new narrative unit in English based upon the book Marcy and the Riddle of the Sphinx. Children have been writing journal entries to for key parts of the stories and have been looking at using expanded noun phrases and adverbials to show time and place. In Maths, we have finished our unit on perimeter and length, this week we have been working out the perimeter of various rectilinear shapes and finished with a maths investigation regarding the perimeter of animal enclosures. In Topic, we have started our Mayan's unit looking at the Mayan timeline of events. In Science, we have also started our new unit of Living Things and their Habitats, looking at the life processes of living things. Attached are also our weekly spellings for Year 4 so that you can practise at home.
