Year 4 News

Year 4 have had a great first week to their final half-term.  We have started our new topics for Science and Topic lessons and are now learning about sound and the British Isles. On Wednesday, we had a fantastic time fencing for the first time, we learnt lots of moves and fencing terminology and had duels against our peers!  In Maths, we are continuing with decimals, looking at tenths and hundredths and have been ordering and comparing them. In English, we are now doing another newspaper report unit, reporting on Beowulf's attack. In Reading lessons, we have started reading King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table and we have made our torches in DT using our knowledge and understanding of electrical circuits and components from our previous Science topic on electricity.

Next week, we will start our new units in PE and DT and visit the library on Thursday afternoon. Please make sure your child has their library card ready for next week. Library membership leaflets will go home to children who do not have one.
