Year 4 News

Year 4 have been learning how to add and subtract with 4-didgit numbers this week and have done some examples that require exchanges with addition. In English, we have been doing more on our narrative unit, focusing on using adverbs, conjunctions and prepositions to express time and we have been learning to punctuate speech correctly. On Tuesday we had our parent workshop where we focused on using expanded noun phrases in our equipment list for a set of instructions on how to mummify a pharaoh. In our Independent write this week we build upon this and wrote a whole set of instructions with the same title. We have come to the end of our Topic unit on The Ancient Egyptians now and will be moving on to our Africa unit with a focus on South Africa. In Science, we are sticking with the same topic of Animals Including Humans but will move on to looking at teeth and food chains. We hope you all have a safe and happy half term break! We will see you all again in November.
