Year 4 News
Year 4 have had a very busy week. We had two Panthers Ice Hockey players join us on Tuesday afternoon who came in to share how much money we have raised for school by going to see them at their games. On Friday, we were also lucky enough to meet a Great Athlete and have a sports session with him, we were very inspired by his achievements. On Thursday, it was poetry day and the theme was play, we had a go at writing our own poems inspired by the theme. In English, we finished publishing our English unit on writing a set of instructions on how to make an Egyptian plaque and started our new Narrative unit inspired by the book Marcy and The Riddle of The Sphinx. In Maths, we have moved onto lots of work on Roman Numerals, even adding and subtracting with them. In Science, we looked at a scientist called William Beaumont and his remarkable experiment to find out how our stomach digests food. In Topic, we learnt all about daily life in Ancient Egypt, what they wore, what they ate and drank and what their homes were like etc. On Monday next week, it is Egyptian day and are really looking forward to learning lots more about the ancient Egyptians. The spellings for next week are below. Have a great weekend everyone!
