Year 4 Class News

 

This week in English we have published our newspaper reports on the Viking attack at Lindisfarne and have had a rainbow grammar lesson on using non-finite clauses. Next week we will start a new narrative unit. In Maths, we have been rounding decimals and recognising halves and quarters as decimals. We will be moving onto money from next week. In Science, we made circuits and in Topic we looked at why Alfred the Great might have been given his title and whether we feel he was deserving of it. On Thursday, we had an amazing day meeting Astrid on our Viking trip! We had fun den building and visiting a Viking Longhouse, having the opportunity to try on helmets, chainmail armour and interact with other Viking artefacts. We also got to make Viking jewellery, grind wheat into flour using a quern and play ball games with Viking shields!
