Year 4 Class News

This week Year 4 have started a new unit on writing a newspaper report about the Viking invasion at Lindisfarne, we have looked at using formal language, writing in the present perfect tense and using subordinate clauses when writing facts about the event in more detail. In Maths, we are learning about decimals and have been working on dividing one and two digit numbers by 10 to get decimal answers. We have also looked at expressing hundredths as fractions and as decimals. In Science, we have been finishing off our last unit on Animals including Humans and have looked at classification keys and the effects of human impact on an animals habitat. In Topic, we have learnt about what life was like for the Anglo-Saxons prior to the arrival of the Vikings. In ICT we have started our animation unit and we have started a new PE unit playing golf. On Friday, we visited Church for an Easter Service and were able to have lots of our questions answered. Please remember to practise your spellings for next week (see below) and to complete your times tables and handwriting sheets. Have a lovely weekend.
