Momo letter and guidance
Dear Parents and Carers
Please find attached an information leaflet regarding a current internet based `game' called `Momo.' This can be accessed via websites or apps such as Whatsapp, Facebook, YouTube and YouTube Kids and has received a lot of attention in the press and social media over the past few days.
We would urge all parents and carers to read the leaflet so that you are familiar with the game and can act if your child comes across this or talks about it. We would also like to take this opportunity to remind parents of the importance of closely monitoring what your child is accessing online. Many excellent tips and guidance about how to monitor and control children's internet access can be found on the NSPCC website. This can be accessed by visiting https://www.nspcc.org.uk/preventing-abuse/keeping-children-safe/online-safety/.
In school, we regularly discuss with children the importance of staying safe online and remind them that, "before you tap and click, you need to stop and think... and tell someone."
Many thanks for your support.
