Class News Year4
This week, Year 4 sat lots of assessments as part of our initial Test Week. Aside from these assessments, we started our first Maths unit on Place Value and have looked at representing and partitioning numbers to 1,000. In English, we had a grammar lesson on using 'was' and 'were' correctly and have started our new unit on writing a set of instructions. In the lesson, we looked the features of instructions and will start writing our own later on in the unit on how to make an Egyptian Inspired cartouche/plaque now that we have designed, made and decorated our own. In Topic, we looked at why the Ancient Egyptians chose to settle by the river Nile and how they had 3 seasons (flooding, harvest and growing). In Science we started our new unit in Animals Including Humans looking at the digestive system and the organs that make up it. Spellings (see below) go out on Friday to practise as well as a new handwriting practise sheet and times tables. Please bring handouts back to school by next Friday. Thank you, have a lovely weekend.
