School Council

2025-2026

School Councilors are always elected through a vote within their classes after putting themselves up for election. Upper School children have had to give a speech to declare why they would make an excellent candidate and Year 4 children at least have to give reasons why they would excel at this responsibility (promoting the British Values of Democracy).

This year our School Council is represented by:

6Carmichael - Mille and Lockie

6Ottowell - Sarah and Oscar

5Hubert - Aster and Toby

5Douifi - Samuel P and Matilda

4Stephenson - Opie and Chloe

Year 3- to join in the Spring term after time to settle :-).

These elected School Councilors are responsible for going to school council meetings and taking part in discussions. Fed back to their class about what was discussed at meetings. Take the views of classmates to the School Council. Be involved in projects that the School Council run.

Over the last few weeks we have been working on an assembly for Parliament week (WB 24th November)

Each class also has a debate topic allocated. This will be worked on during the week and a debate will take place within class towards the end of week- let's hope they don't all agree on the same point of view!!!!

This year the school council is having a massive push to make Albany Juniors a more greener, environmental friendly school.

The school council are working alongside Energy Sparks

This company offers an unique school-specific energy management analysis using data to monitor the schools electricity and gas. They suggest actions the whole school could take to save energy which the school council will undertake.
