Year 6 News

Well done to everyone on a fabulous first week back!

This week we have completed our learning of Algebra in maths, applying our knowledge of formula and equations to reasoning and problem solving. It has been tricky at times but we have been extremely resilient in our learning.

In English we had a big debate about whether or not the work of Alan Turing should have led to the immediate end of world war 2, or were they right to keep his work secret. The children had some great ideas, shared their opinions respectfully and maturely and considered things from others points of view. This will help hugely when we write our own balanced arguments.

We had an interesting Blitz online workshop on Thursday afternoon and have begun our designs for our moving vehicles in DT.

In PE we have begun a unit on dance and started out with dance battles to help our confidence!

Have a lovely weekend,

Miss Carmichael & Miss Ottowell
