Year 5 News
We have had a fantastic first term in Year 5. Whilst our visit to St Helens Church didn't go as planned this week, we still managed to have our harvest festival as the church very kindly came to us. Today, we have been busy finishing our money boxes in DT. It is a really tricky unit as it can be really fiddly and at times, very frustrating. However, all the children demonstrated great resilience and determination to finish their final product. In English, we have started out new unit based on the book 'Hidden Figure'. It is a fantastic book and highlights events from the past, encouraging children to think about how others are treated and discuss our British Values and Protected Characteristics. In maths, we have finished out unit on addition and subtraction and after half term, we will be focusing on multiplication and division.
We hope you have a fantastic half term and look forward to seeing all the children in November!
