What is Forest School?

Forest School is an inspiring outdoor approach to learning that gives children the freedom to explore, discover, and grow through hands-on experiences in nature. 

In our Forest School sessions, children learn through play, exploration and teamwork. They build dens, create natural art, learn how to look after the environment, and develop practical skills like tool use and fire safety - all at their own pace and in a supportive, nurturing setting.

Forest School encourages our 5R's through promoting independence, problem solving and confidence in self. It's a place where muddy boots, curiosity and creativity are always encouraged!

At Albany Junior School, we are blessed to have Miss Tilley who can take children out and deliver Forest School sessions to some of our children.

Miss Tilley has a level 3 FSA Forest School qualification.

She delivers Forest School sessions on a Wednesday morning.
