4 Marshall

Welcome to 4M.

We are enjoying many fascinating topics and exciting experiences this year in Year 4.

In 4M, the teacher is Mrs Marshall and is supported by our fantastic teaching assistant Mrs Black.  Mrs Cave, Miss Weatherall and Miss Wynne may also work with the children at times (for reading or covering PPA and Leadership times). We also have Spanish in the 2nd half terms with Senora Creese and Mr Riley/ Mr Spencer have taught PE during certain points in the year.

PE

 Year 4 will  have PE on a Thursday and Friday afternoon. Kit requirement is a plain white T shirt and a plain black hoodie as well as a plain black pair of leggings, joggers or shorts.

Children should come come to school in PE kits.

Each half term, there is a class read, which will link to the topic being studied. The aim is to give the children an opportunity of having a book being read to them and building on the knowledge they are learning in humanities (topic- history and geography) lessons. Parts of the book will be studied more in depth in reading sessions.

Times tables

Please keep learning your times tables so that you become quicker at recalling the multiplication and division facts up to 12x12. Find fun ways of learning them.

Reading

We expect you to be reading at home at least 3 times a week. Reading helps to develop and improve your vocabulary and imagination too. If you read a minimum of 3 times, you will earn your hot chocolate from 'Starbooks' on a Friday. When you read, make sure that an adult records it in your partnership book.
