Year 3 had a jam packed Healthy Living Week and enjoyed every minute. We finished our Science topic about Animals and Humans, children enjoyed learning all about their skeletons and muscles. We also had a go at some first aid learning about what services to call in an emergency and how to control different types of bleeding. We finished off our pizzas and I hope you enjoyed having a taste at home. Then we finally managed to fit in sports day which the children were overjoyed with, thank you to organisers for this. We are looking forward to the final two days of Year 3 with lots to still come.

We all had a brilliant time on our 'Albany Adventure' this week, where we enjoyed ice creams, a picnic, time on the park and games of rounders. It was lovely to see everyone having fun out of the classroom. To end the week, we performed our DAaRT graduation to Year 5. The messages and sketches were excellent and they really demonstrated what has been learnt in the sessions. A great job!

This week has been very busy, in Year 3, we have learnt about different types of poetry and we have done some Maths mysteries. On Monday afternoon we have had a whole year group rounders match showing off our new learnt skills. On Tuesday we followed a carousel around the school for Maths morning and then for our parent workshop we explored the streets of Stapleford (without getting wet). On Wednesday was the amazing Albany Adventure and we had an absolute blast, spotting ladybirds and playing with our friends. On Thursday was class swap day and it was very exciting meeting new people and new teachers. The fun didn’t stop there as to end the week we have interpreted data from the streets of Stapleford onto some really cool electronic graphs. We hope the children rest lots this weekend before starting our final full week of Year 3. Miss Tilley and Mrs Cave.

It has been another busy week! On Monday, we carried out our Geography fieldwork, visiting the River Erewash and we investigated the speed of the river. 6T were much more successful than 6O! Later on, we attended the official opening of the new cycle track. Most of the children have enjoyed spending a couple of days at their secondary schools this week too. We also took part in a first aid session, where we learnt how to use the recovery position and how to do CPR. What great skills to know.

This week, everyone has been busy completing end of year assessments.  All the children have tried really hard and it has been lovely seeing the progress they have made since the start of the year.  We had an exciting break in tests on Wednesday when the children completed mini first aid training.  All the children really enjoyed it and the feedback has been great!  During swimming on Monday, it was a little different to normal.  The children had to wear their normal clothes and learn how to help rescue someone from the water safely.  We have been busy working on our moving toys in DT and getting ready for sports day in PE.  Next week will be our last swimming session and the next Albany Adventure!
