  • Year 6 Enterprise Challenge

Wed 24 Oct 2018 Miss Gibson

Following a successful visit to Hagg Farm last week, pupils in Year 6 are now beginning to think about the prospect of running a summer camp during summer term. The date has been set for Wednesday 16th & Thursday 17th July 2019. With such a large year group, pupils have quite a challenge this year and are hoping to raise £1870 through a series of events throughout the rest of the academic year. If your child is not in year 6, there is no obligation to support the events. However, I know that the Year 6 pupils are already super excited about the camp and would really appreciate any support you and your children can offer.

Below is the overview planned so far (more events may be added along the way!)

    Small Change Challenge 6G 'v' 6H

From Monday 5th November, pupils in both classes will be starting the small change challenge. This is an on-going activity, which involves collecting items of small change. Every penny counts in their bid to be crowned the small change challenge champions. The winning class will earn themselves a non-uniform day.

More details will be issued closer to the time, however provisional dates and events are shown below.

Pamper Hamper Raffle - launched at our Christmas fayre on Monday 26th November 2018. The draw will take place on Friday 21st December 2018.

Smartie Challenge - launched on Monday 7th January 2019

    Valentine's day face paint - Thursday 14th February 2019

Easter Egg Raffle - launched on Monday 18th March 2019.

The draw will take place on Thursday 4th April 2019.

Dress down Friday - Friday 17th May 2019

Sponsored walk - Week Beginning 10th June 2019

If you have any questions about the above, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

  • Hagg Farm October 2018

Sat 20 Oct 2018 Miss Gibson

What an amazing week. I am so proud of the pupils who have attended Hagg Farm this week. They have been a pleasure to work with. This week has been about making memories which I hope will last a lifetime and it has been a privilege to be a part of it. Throughout the week they have taken part in a range of activities from problem solving, orienteering, nightline, canoeing, rock hopping, Jacob's ladder, zip wire, abseiling and caving. During the week they have embraced the 5R’s: risk, relationships, respect, responsibility and an abundance of resilience. Hagg Farm staff have been impressed with the way they have worked this week and their effort and enthusiasm during all activities – even kit cleaning! They have been one of the best groups our instructors have worked with. High praise indeed.

Pictures of the visit can be found on the Hagg Farm Residential page in the 'Children's section' of the website.

A huge thank you to all the staff who have supported me this week Mrs Ellis, Mr Still, Mrs Jelley and Mr Hudson. I couldn't have done it without you and I am extremely grateful to all of you for your hard work and commitment to ensuring that is has been an amazing week.

I hope you all have a great weekend. Miss Gibson
