This week Year 4 have been working really hard during test week. We are so impressed to see them trying their best in all subjects. In Science, we wrote a set of instructions for our experiment, where we investigated how the shape of an object affects the amount of water resistance. This week, we designed our Indus Valley jewellery and we are excited to make it next week.

Mr Mercer, who is a driving instructor, came into school and Year 3 enjoyed their talk with him and looking around his specially adapted car.

  • Year 4 Latest News

    Thu 11 Nov 2021

In Year 4 this week, we have found out fascinating facts about model aircraft in order write a non-chronological report (We found out that the first model aeroplane was discovered from Ancient Egyptian times). We have been learning about South Africa and the different biomes within the continent and we discovered more about Nelson Mandela and his experiences in prison. In music, we enjoyed listening to some music written by the composer Henri Mancini and learning about beat and ostinato. We composed our own rhythms and played tuned and untuned percussion.

  • Year 6 Latest News

    Thu 11 Nov 2021

This week in Year 6 we have been learning about Remembrance and why it is important.  We have been looking at the famous poem 'In Flanders Fields' and why it means so much to so many people.  The children have been really respectful and demonstrated great maturity when taking part in the two minutes silence on Remembrance Day.  In maths we have been busy consolidating our understanding of factors, multiples, prime, square and cubed numbers.  It has really highlighted how important times tables are.  We would like to say a huge thank you to Mr Mercer for coming into school and talking to us about being a driving instructor and letting us explore the modified car.
