Year 6 News

Year 6 have had a fantastic week. Yes! even test week can be fantastic. They have still enjoyed their afternoon of swimming and they have also started their next unit of writing, where they have been introduced to the narrative poem 'The Highwayman'. The children have also continued studying the Victorian period and have delved deeper into certain famous Victorian individuals, such as Lord Shaftsbury. The children are all really excited for their trip next week!

Yesterday, The Albany Junior School Boys Football Team played in a friendly against Chetwynd Spencer Academy. After a hard-fought 40 minutes, Chetwynd ended up victorious. The boys, although disappointed at losing, are staying positive and they will continue to work extremely hard in training in order make improvements on the pitch. A special shout out goes out to Nick, who played in his first ever football match and made some truly fantastic saves in goal! We are so proud of the boys, who will never give up, whatever the result.
