Landmarks

A landmark is described as an object or feature of a landscape or town that is easily seen and recognised from a distance.

There are many famous landmarks in England, Wales, Ireland and Northern Ireland. The cards below will tell you about some of them.

Add labels to the map of the UK. Use an atlas if you have one or online maps. There are 3 levels of challenge and answers are provided.

Once you have labelled the countries and surrounding seas and oceans, can you add some of the famous landmarks to your map?

Other activities that you could try are:

  • Make a new poster/card linked to a different British landmark of your choice.

  • Write a report about it or create a persuasive poster/advert to encourage people (tourists) to visit.
