Bird Week - Science
We started this week off with a really exciting day on Monday. We had Bob Morley in, based at Lanes Garden Centre, to talk to us about owls and birds of prey. We had the opportunity to fly three of the owls to each other and even I held an owl for the first time ever! It was really exciting feeling the wings of the birds skim the tops of our heads as they flew. We then had the opportunity to sketch the birds and the results were amazing. The whole school were involved and I would like to thank the children for their outstanding behaviour.
Throughout the week we have made bird feeders, painted watercolour birds, completed bird graphs and maths problems etc. Friday is a whole school science investigation day on birds, where the children will be investigating feathers, beaks, feet, nests and lifecycles.
Thanks to all the staff and governors for making such an enjoyable week for the children.
