5O

Welcome to 5O!

There are 29 children in our class and Miss Ottowell is our teacher. Mrs Limb and Mrs Talts also work with us. On a Thursday afternoon, Miss Weatherall teaches us.

We move into smaller groups for all English lessons and independent writes. The adults who are in charge of each group are:

Miss Ottowell

Mrs Dove

Mr Still

Mrs Limb and Mrs Talts.

Throughout the year, we will be taught by specialist teachers for Spanish and Music and P.E.

PE days

Please wear PE kit on a Tuesday and a Friday.

  • White t-shirt
  • Blue/black shorts or joggers
  • Trainers
  • Blue/black hoodie.

This half term, Mr Riley will be working with us on a Tuesday, to improve our skills in invasion games. On a Friday, we will be developing our throwing and catching skills.

Homework

Spelling

This year, we have a new list of 100 spellings to learn. Each week, on a Friday, a new set of spellings will be sent home to learn. These will be tested in a spelling test every Friday. We will still be tested on the Year 3/4 list during assessment week. These lists can be found in your partnership books.

Times tables

Please keep learning your times tables so that you become quicker at recalling the multiplication and division facts up to 12x12. Find fun ways of learning them.

Reading

We expect you to be reading at home at least 3 times a week. Reading helps to develop and improve your vocabulary and imagination too. If you read a minimum of 3 times, you will earn your hot chocolate from 'Starbooks' on a Friday. When you read, make sure that an adult records it in your partnership book.
