Information and Facts about Rivers

During the summer term our topic is Rivers. Children will understand the journey of a river, the main features and how phenomenon such as drought and flooding can affect the environment both locally, regionally, nationally and global . We will be investigating and researching rivers locally, regionally, nationally and world wide. In doing so, we will undertake a field study of the River Erewash and carry out a series of measuring and recording techniques. 

 

An introduction to Rivers

All rivers start at the highest point in an area. As the river flows downstream, it gains more water from other streams, rivers, springs, added rainfall, and other water sources.
