All of 3R and 3G thoroughly enjoyed their trip to Lakeside Arts. They were able to handle artefacts and complete an archaeological dig to find replica artefacts.

The Dig and Bone Show
All children had the opportunity to learn about carnivores and herbivores that were around during the Stone Age. They looked at the teeth each animal had and had a go at sorting them into each category. 3R later became archaeologists  and completed an archaeological dig to find Stone Age tools and bones in a pit. Building on their knowlegde of Stone Age animals pupils had to work in groups to rebuild the skeleton of three different animals.

Survival Skills
Pupils became Neotholic cavemen/women for this session. Children and adults had to hunt down deer to eat for their dinner (no deer were harmed during the process) by hitting it in the heart with a wooden spear. Using deer fur, sticks and rocks children made their ideal shelter from the outdoor conditions and to protect themselves from animals.

Cave tour
Everyone put on their helmets and head torches to visit the inside of a cave at Creswell Crags. It all got a bit scary when all the lights were turned off and pupils got to see what it was really like inside the cave with no lights. Pupils experienced low ceilings and tight tunnels inside the cave. They even handled some artefacts of Stone Age tools inside.

Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time

Santa Claus is Coming to Town

You better watch out, you better not cry
Better not pout, I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town

He's making a list and checking it twice
Gonna find out Who's naughty and nice
Santa Claus is coming to town

He sees you when you're sleeping
He knows when you're awake
He knows if you've been bad or good
So be good for goodness sake!

You better watch out, you better not cry
Better not pout, I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town

Have a Holly Jolly Christmas

Have a holly, jolly Christmas;
It's the best time of the year
I don't know if there'll be snow but have a cup of cheer
Have a holly, jolly Christmas;
And when you walk down the street
Say Hello to friends you know and everyone you meet.

Oh ho the mistletoe hung where you can see;
Somebody waits for you;
Kiss them once for me.
Have a holly jolly Christmas and in case you didn't hear,
Oh by golly have a holly jolly Christmas this year

Wonderful Christmas Time

The moon is right, the spirits up
We're here tonight, and that's enough
Simply having a wonderful Christmastime
Simply having a wonderful Christmastime

The party's on, the feelin's here
That only comes this time of year

Simply having a wonderful Christmastime
Simply having a wonderful Christmastime

The choir of children sing their song
Ding dong, ding dong, ding dong

We're simply having a wonderful Christmastime
Simply having a wonderful Christmastime

The word is out, about the town
To lift a glass, ah don't look down

Simply having a wonderful Christmastime

Simply having a wonderful Christmastime.

The choir of children sing their song
They practiced all year long
Ding dong, ding dong ding dong.

We're simply having a wonderful Christmastime
Simply having a wonderful Christmastime

Oh.....Christmastime.

Walking in the Air

We're walking in the air
We're floating in the moonlit sky
The people far below are sleeping as we fly
I'm holding very tight
I'm riding in the midnight blue
I'm finding I can fly so high above with you

Far across the world
The villages go by like trees
The rivers and the hills
The forests and the streams

Children gaze open mouth
Taken by surprise
Nobody down below believes their eyes

We're surfing in the air
We're swimming in the frozen sky
We're drifting over icy
Mountains floating by

Suddenly swooping low on an ocean deep
Arousing of a mighty monster from its sleep
We're walking in the air
We're floating in the midnight sky
And everyone who sees us greets us as we fly

I'm holding very tight
I'm riding in the midnight blue
I'm finding I can fly so high above with you

All I want for Christmas

I don't want a lot for Christmas

There is just one thing I need
I don't care about the presents
Underneath the Christmas tree
I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true.............All I want for Christmas is you

I don't want a lot for Christmas
There is just one thing I need, and I
Don't care about the presents
Underneath the Christmas tree
I don't need to hang my stocking
There upon the fireplace
Santa Claus won't make me happy.........With a toy on Christmas day

I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true......All I want for Christmas is you

I won't ask for much this Christmas
I won't even wish for snow, and I
I just wanna keep on waiting
Underneath the mistletoe
I won't make a list and send it
To the North Pole for Saint Nick
I won't even stay awake
To hear those magic reindeer click
'Cause I just want you here tonight
Holding on to me so tight
What more can I do.......Baby all I want for Christmas is you

All the lights are shining
So brightly everywhere
And the sound of children's
Laughter fills the air
And everyone is singing
I hear those sleigh bells ringing
Santa won't you bring me
The one I really need
Won't you please bring my baby to me quickly

I don't want a lot for Christmas........This is all I'm asking for
I just wanna see my baby......Standing right outside my door

I just want you for my own......More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true......Baby all I want for Christmas is you

Believe

Children, sleeping.
Snow is softly falling.
Dreams are calling,
Like bells in the distance.
We were dreamers,
Not so long ago.
But one by one, we
All had to grow up.

When it seems the magic slipped away...
We find it all again on Christmas Day.

Believe in what your heart is saying,
Hear the melody that's playing.
There's no time to waste,
There so much to celebrate.
Believe in what you feel inside,
Give your dreams the wings to fly.
You have everything you need, if you just believe.

Trains move quickly
To their journey's end.
Destinations...
Are where we begin again.
Ships go sailing,
Far across the sea.
Trusting starlight,
To get where they need to be.

When it seems that we have lost our way...
We find ourselves again on Christmas Day.

Believe in what your heart is saying,
Hear the melody that's playing
There's no time to waste,
There so much to celebrate.
Believe in what you feel inside,
And give your dreams the wings to fly.
You have everything you need, if you just Believe.
If you just believe.......If you just believe.

Jingle Bells

We're dashing through the snow

On a one-horse open sleigh
Over fields we go
Laughing all the way,
Bells on bob-tails ring
Making spirits bright
What fun it is to ride and sing
A sleighing song tonight.

Oh jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way,
Oh what fun it is to ride
On a one-horse open sleigh, hey
Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way,
Oh what fun it is to ride
On a one-horse open sleigh.
